This family-friendly hike can be adapted to suit nearly any group. Filled with ancient towers, abandoned villages, colorful travertine mineral springs, a small but vivid mineral lake, monasteries, and dramatic mountains, this day hike is one of the most scenic and accessible hikes possible near Gudauri. We begin by taking the brand new gondola from Gudauri, over Kobi Pass, to Kobi Village – an adventure in itself. From there, we drive a few kilometers up the valley to the trailhead. The 7km track to the ruins of the ancient village Ketrisi is mostly flat, though the time it takes will be determined by the snow conditions of the day. Truso Valley in winter is suitable for families with kids ages 10+ who are comfortable spending several hours in the snow.
